In a shock case of everything going ABSOLUTELY ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE for once in the mobile OS update world, Sony Ericsson has started to launch the Android 2.3 update for the original X10 Android phone in Europe. Just like it said it would .
Our attention was brought to the arrival of the Italian version of the update by Android World.it – and upon checking the Sony Ericsson update servers for the UK version of the code…
It’s available as well! An amazing day that most X10 owners never thought they would see, especially as Sony Ericsson itself decided against updating the X10 beyond Android 2.1, before making a spectacular u-turn .
The slightly bad news is that this is for unbranded phones only at the moment. If you bought your X10 through a network, it’s time to start up an internet petition.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ July 26, 2011According to unknown13x (A wise chap) from XDA it could be a very long night….72 hours long!
“The update will be up in Europe this Friday”
and
“Europe is the first to get it, other regions to follow by next week. Operator-based devices will not receive this update FYI (I know its been said, but just a reminder). Reminder again, re-flash your device back to stock rom without root to receive the update. You will only see your device has the latest software if not done so.”
