Despite the European support sites showing the Android 2.3 update for the X10 as being available for download yesterday, Sony Ericsson today said that… it isn’t. Apparently “some more days” are needed to fiddle with the Android update things before the actual file will appear for users through the company’s PC Companion update tool.
Here’s the very latest, taken from the SE Product Blog:
As some of you have seen we have communicated on www.sonyericsson.com that the Gingerbread software update for Xperia X10 is available. Unfortunately that information was a bit too premature. The launch is imminent and timing according to plan but we just need some more days before we can push the button.
Apologies for giving X10 owners heart attacks yesterday. It’ll be a few more days until it’s properly available. Then we can go through this whole charade again. Link via Phandroid.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
