Here’s another amazingly cheap Android tablet from our old friend Tabtech, which has introduced an 8″ model running Android 2.3 – and will sell you one via Amazon for £129.
Of course, you know what’s coming. The Tabtech A816 features a resistive screen running at 800×600 resolution and delivering a 4:3 aspect image, but it’s powered by a 1.2GHz processor and comes with 512MB of RAM so shouldn’t be a disaster.
It also claims to have full Android Market access, which is something of a coup for a device down at this end of the market, plus Flash Player support. Here are the tech specs of the thing:

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ August 21, 2011Really Google need to clamp down on shit like this giving Android a bad name.
Perhaps remove the resistive touchscreen driver….

/ August 21, 2011But it is only £130. I think most of the buyers have realistic expectations.

/ August 21, 2011I disagree, people think iPad but only £130. When they get it they really discover how shit resistive touchscreen devices are.
It’s only like $50 more to develop capacitive devices, so why do manufacturers like this always skimp on the touchscreen and end up giving Android a bad-rep.

/ December 25, 2011I have the tabtech a816 with added bluetooth and its amazing, It is very good value for the price, i was shocked to see how well it runs and how good the screen is. The tablet runs with 2.3 android which is good, and comes with a full market with is great as not all tablets have full android. If you are looking for a tablet thats low cost, good build quality, fast and good for gaming then buy the tabtech. definatly worth it.
