An unannounced update of the mobile phone Android Market client has leaked, showing a couple of new additions we can expect to see appearing on our phones at some point in the future.
There are two new things of note – the inclusion of a PIN locking system to stop unauthorised purchasing of apps through your phone, plus a new Google+ integration layer that sits beneath the app’s listing. Which looks like this:
But you’re still stuck with the new, all-grey, Android Market redesign. Link via Android Police.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ August 23, 2011I just be satisfied if I could rate and comment on apps from Honeycomb, which seems for some bizzare reason only known to some idiot at Google be missing from tablets, despite having much more screen real estate in the marketplace app…
Google? What gives????

/ August 24, 2011Unlikely, as I usually bother to rate good stuff. Only if something is truely horrendous do I rate badly, but then usually you know long before you download.
My feeling is that alot of this stuff is on the backburner until ICS launches, at which time it all makes sense. I get the feeling Honeycomb was a rushed affair (but rather good as it turns out).

/ August 23, 2011I never got the update to the market layout referred to as the grey layout (http://www.eurodroid.com/2011/07/12/google-redesigns-android-market-mobile-phone-app-once-again/) ….
Is it just me or only select people got it in UK …. I am on Motorola Atrix 2.2.2 by the way ….
