Sony UK has teamed up with the Currys/Dixons & PC World chain to start selling the Sony Tablet S a couple of hours before everyone else. The Tottenham Court Road PC World store in London and the Black Store in Birmingham will both be opening at 7.00am on September 16th to sell the Tablet S before everyone else, plus the first 100 buyers at each location will get themselves a free BRAVIA TV that’s apparently worth £400.

14th September – Staff at Currys and PC World on Tottenham Court Road are expecting an excited crowd of customers on Friday morning when they open up at 7am to exclusively sell the much-anticipated Sony Tablet S two hours before any other retailer on the high street.
To sweeten the deal for those making the effort to get up super-early, the first 100 customers to buy a Sony Tablet S will also receive a FREE Sony 32” BRAVIA TV* worth £400.
From 5am, staff will be giving out drinks and mini-pastries to early-bird customers and a magician will be on hand to entertain and keep spirits high as they queue while the rest of the capital wakes up.
Mark Slater, Category Director at Dixons Retail, commented: “We are expecting a big buzz outside our Tottenham Court Road store on Friday. We are really excited to be the first retailers on the high street to be selling the Sony Tablet S and are expecting it to be an instant hit with our customers.”

Motorola’s latest flagship dual-core Android monster is a massive, original powerhouse, that’s a big improvement on previous MOTOBLUR mobiles – but still isn’t a total winner.
A slim and glamorous phone from Sony Ericsson, with the sharpest display around. It’s no powerhouse and the screen’s not the biggest out there, but we don’t mind. Because it’s cute.
LG’s first glasses-free 3D phone is a heavy, fat monster, with a clever 3D effect that works rather well. As a smartphone, though, it’s heavy and underwhelming.
A very shiny thing from Sony Ericsson, with a 3.7″ screen and Android 2.3.3 inside. But is it exciting enough to win fans in today’s spec-obsessed market? Can man live on one core alone?
INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
