So the early reports of Android 2.3.4 arriving for Sony Ericsson’s Arc, PLAY, Neo and Ray were indeed correct, with Sony Ericsson confirming the update has now begun in the company’s local “Nordic countries”.
If you live somewhere that isn’t traditionally Nordic, you’ll get the Android 2.3.4 update for your Arc/Neo/Ray/PLAY from “late October going into early November” – so we can only apologise if you spent the whole of the weekend pressing ‘Check for Updates’ and becoming increasingly frustrated.
Oddly, though, Sony Ericsson’s newest announcement makes no mention of the added 720p video capture for the Xperia PLAY, despite it already being spotted in the wild.
