This isn’t quite as exciting as it initially sounds. The Freeview HD Android app is little more than a fancy TV guide, giving you full listings for everything that’s currently showing in UK terrestrial SD and HD broadcasts. There are no streaming or downloads, here.
But it’s a nice app, with a crazy multi-directional scroll on the schedule pages, that scrolls both left to right AND up and down.
Plus you can share listings, set reminders for programmes (integrated with Google Calendar) and select your TV region at launch, to ensure you get your correct regional variations. Freeview HD is on the Android Market here.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ October 18, 2011Just need the FreeSat version, for those of us where Freeview sucks donkeyballs. (we only get half the freeview channels of most people, as we are on a cheapo Freeview Lite)

/ October 18, 2011I have literally zero Freeview signal, here. It’s dish or nothing for me.

/ October 18, 2011We have plenty of signal, but they didn’t bother putting all the multiplexes on the repeaters, so unless you get Freeview from one of the main transmitters, you get FreeviewGimp with half the channels…
The things they DON’T tell you in the advertising….

/ October 19, 2011I’ve been waiting for an accurate Freesat listings app for ages.
A while back, Freesat hinted about one, but nothing has come of it…
