There’s a new version of the Swype Beta alternate Android keyboard available, which sorts out the biggest problem with the app – the tiresome updating process. The latest version supports updates from within the app, doing away with the nightmarish separate “Swype Installer” system that surely must’ve deterred a huge number of users from giving it a try.
The 3.26 update also includes support for 11 more languages, tweaks the keyboard layout once again by moving the numbers to sit along the top line of the keyboard, and adds a refreshed collection of settings to manage the app.
The bad news is… you have to wrestle with the Beta installer app one final time to install this new version. If you’ve previously registered for the Swype Beta, the new one can be sorted though http://beta.swype.com/.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
