Analyst Strategy Analytics is back with another look at the global tablet scene, estimating that overall tablet sales for Q3 of 2011 stood at 17m units – a 280% increase over the 4.4m tablet computers of all varieties shipped around the world in Q3 of 2010.
And Android’s on the up. It took 27% of the global tablet market in Q3 of this year, an enormous increase from the non-existent 2% of the market it took in the same quarter of 2010. Here’s a very serious table of data:
Android up from 100,000 tablet sales in Q3 of 2010, to 4,500,000 in the same quarter of 2011. It looks like we finally have some TRACTION.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
