Steve Jobs: “I’m going to destroy Android”

Blimey. Some more quotes have emerged from man who’s writing the forthcoming biography of Steve Jobs, revealing his PURE RAGE at Android – and the roots of today’s numerous legal battles between Apple and the various Android manufacturers.

According to Jobs’ biographer Walter Isaacson, Jobs had the following to say following the announcements of HTC’s 2010 Android phones, the HTC Legend and Desire, which Jobs felt stole wholesale from his iPhone range:

“I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong … I’m going to destroy Android, because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go thermonuclear war on this”

And he used to look like such a nice, cuddly old chap, too :(

This time scale also ties in with Jobs’ bizarre series of rants about Android containing “porn” – which was, presumably, one of the ways the man thought he might discredit his newly emerging enemy.

I think most people can see Jobs was a man who willing to take the ideas of others and pass them off as his own while going tonto when others did the same with his products.

He lived as he died, a man full of his own self importance.

LOL, from what I can see both Google and Apple make smartphones (like Ford and Toyota make cars), and Apple are the ones stealing stuff.

I mean IOS5 steals Android notifications, it steals Androids voice control, iOS4 stole Androids multi-tasking and folders.

I’m betting that iOS6 will steal Android widgets.

So how’s that mission to destroy Android going then Steve????

You could argue that Android stole Voice Control from Nokia as well as stealing Multitasking from Windows Mobile.

I think Steve would say it’s still destroying Android when it comes to pure profit.

yeah, but in terms of profit they were already doing that to everyone, i think jobs wanted total domination…which wont happen the way the iphone is right now

People often try to discredit stuff they are afraid of, this man was petrified and rightly so…

Isn’t it ironic that it was actually Android that outlasted Jobs? Wait, don’t tell me, was that the sound of his last dying breath actually spent trying to destroy Android just to see a gloriously tasty Ice Cream Sandwich show up?
