The very nice Android Winamp app has received a large update today, which adds new features like syncing with Macs and a greater collection of music to stream through the Spinner new music promo feature, while the new $4.99 Pro update adds a 10-band graphic equaliser, folder-based file navigation, crossfading and more.
The Pro features are unlocked via an in-app purchase, also meaning you don’t see any ad windows. This is some of it:
That was it. The updated Winamp is on the Android Market here. Read the official company line about the changes over on the Winamp blog.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ October 28, 2011A great idea, except that the update wouldn’t bloody play anything.
That was solved with a complete removal and uninstall, Then I tried the in-app purchase to get bloody gapless playback- and that failed miserably, timed out every time. I checked by buying a cheap random app in the marketplace with the same payment method, worked fine, just Always. Bloody. Fails. in-app. Since they haven’t bothered to put the “pro” (ahem) upgrade on the marketplace properly, I just can’t bloody buy it at all.. All I want is gapless phucking playback. I will have to dig my iPod Touch out, at this rate.
So yeah, we herd u liek fail…
