Nvidia has announced its Tegra 3 chipset today, also giving us the full details on the forthcoming Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime. The updated Android tablet will be our first way to get our hands on a Tegra 3 device, coming with a 10.1″ LED backlit Super IPS screen running at 1280×800 resolution, plus “10 finger” multi-touch support. And 1GB of RAM.
Transformer Prime will arrive running Android 3.2, although Asus says it’s “Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgradeable” – and given its excellent record in updating the original Eee Transformer, we believe that 100%.
Only the US launch date and prices have appeared so far, with “December” and $500 for the 32GB model the key figures. Here’s the announcement, with full tech specs below. Pic via Gizmodo:

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
