Sony Ericsson has just issued an updated and slightly reworded version of its previous statement on ICS support, now saying that the entire 2011 Xperia Android range will see an update to Android 4.0 at some point in the future, with the company currently working on combining its own user interface with Google’s new OS upgrade.
Here’s the chunk of words from Sony Ericsson:
We can today confirm that we plan to upgrade the entire 2011 Xperia™ portfolio* to the next version of Android known as Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich. We are working on merging our current Xperia™ experience with the new features in Android 4.0.
* “2011 Xperia™ Portfolio” refers to the following products: Xperia™ arc and arc S, Xperia™ PLAY, Xperia™ neo and neo V, Xperia™ mini and mini pro, Xperia™ pro, Xperia™ active, Xperia™ ray as well as Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman™
There won’t be a finer and more splendid mobile device in the world than a bright pink Xperia Arc S running Android 4.0.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ November 15, 2011That’s great news. However I’d rather not see a pink Xperia Arc, really don’t like the look of it. To be honest, I could do without seeing a pink Arc ever again :) lol.

Yes there is, the Black, White or Blue ones….
Just picked up an Arc S (to replace my HTC Legend) and I love it, it’s a fantastic phone.

/ November 15, 2011I *so* look forward to ICS on my “classic” Arc. I still like my DHD, but to come back to S/E with their UX and TimeScape is just great and with ICS it can only get better.
