MAN BUYS NEW KIND OF TELEPHONE

Samsung UK has just sent out photographic evidence proving that it DID manage to launch the Galaxy Nexus in the UK on November 17th as promised, with this morning’s Phones4U launch event going ahead as planned in the chain’s Oxford Street branch.

Here is a man doing quite a good job of looking excited for the camera about being the “world’s first” Galaxy Nexus owner:

galaxy nexus launched

The Galaxy Nexus launch would appear to be patchy in the extreme. O2 is the only network claiming to be sending out pre-orders today, with the other launch networks – Vodafone and Three – seemingly out of the loop on this initial wave of stock.

Bloody hell. Bit pricey. Must stay strong and avoid buying more phones on impulse.

I bet the reason P4U aren’t delivering the Galaxy Nexus phones that were pre ordered weeks ago, is because of this shitty launch…. Fuckers.

Hi, that’s me in the picture. I can confirm that I was actually waiting for a bus outside the shop and some bloke offered me a free 10 pound top up for the wifes phone if I held up a box for an iphone or something?

After the photographer took my picture one of the shop staff snatched the box out of my hands and told me to get out which I thought was out of order, I mean I did them a favour.

Anyway, now I’ve had my fifteen minutes of fame, shame. I wanted to go on the XFactor next year as I can do a funny dance, well it makes my mate Kevin laugh.

Nice talkin’ see ya later chaps.

The ironic thing about all this is that

    Update from O2

O2 in the UK – The Nexus is available now in selected stores and for online upgrades – we’ll have more stock for upgrading over the phone and the rest of the stores as soon as possible :)

  9. What’s the deal with buying this through an operator?
It’s supposed to be a “Google Experience” isn’t it – does that prohibit operators from adding any bloatware on it?
    Would it be locked?

What about buying from p4u, cpw or similar – do all of those websites provide unlocked versions?

    Cheers

Even if it is it isn’t a big deal . Root , add a normal sim free image. Done.

Want this phone so badly, think I’m only going to buy nexus phones from now on. But with ICS hopefully updates will start getting better.
