Navfree’s been available on iPhone for quite some time, which means the people-powered satnav tool has combined DIY mapping data from several million users. It’s free, it looks pretty swish, it uses OpenStreetMap data to cover large chunks of the world, plus it caches all route data to the phone for easy offline use.
This is it:
Navfree is on the Android Market here for… free. User feedback looks pretty solid, too.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ November 23, 2011This is a superb Navigation app that is head and shoulders with the established paid-for apps. The cacheing of route data to the phone makes for full sat-nav capability even when out of cell signal, where the map tiles become unavailable until back in signal.
This is a quality app.
