SEGA and GetJar giving away ChuChu Rocket! from tomorrow

The popular GetJar Gold freebie apps channel will include a version of Android ChuChu Rocket! from tomorrow, with SEGA doing a deal to give away one of its finest games through the alternate mobile app store.

If you like silly little puzzle games and can’t bear the thought of parting with 69p to get one, it will indeed be a very happy Christmas.

SEGA Frees the ChuChus – and the Cats – Onto Android Devices via GetJar’s Gold Program

SAN FRANCISCO—December 22, 2011—SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that ChuChu Rocket!™, the frenetic action-puzzler classic, will be appearing on the GetJar platform starting tomorrow, December 23. Android users will be able to download the app completely free at www.getjar.com.

“With the continuing popularity of ChuChu Rocket!, we knew it was a perfect fit for the world’s largest free app store,” said Haruki Satomi, Senior Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA of America. “The game is such an ideal app for mobile devices, and we are very pleased by the opportunity to prove that to an ever-growing audience.”

ChuChu Rocket! for Android challenges players to save a scampering crowd of ChuChus by guiding them to waiting rockets, while bottomless pits and ravenous cats stand in their way. Players can match wits with over 500 unique single-player puzzles or try to keep up with a real-time battle against up to three computer opponents.

    That Getjar site is such a faff. Search couldn’t find the app. When I found it manually, it gave me an address and code to type on my phone. When I did that, it made me install their app. When I did that, it let me download the game. Jeez.
