Analyst Kantar Worldpanel has updated its European smartphone market share data, giving us a look at how the Android/Apple/RIM/Nokia battle is playing out.
Over the 12-week period up to the end of November, Kantar says Android powered the devices owned by 46.6% of UK smartphone users, up from 34.8% this time last year. The win comes courtesy of RIM and Symbian, which have fallen from 22.2% to 16.9% and from 17.1% per cent to 3.2% respectively.
This’ll be a big reason why:
Meanwhile, Windows Phone has 1.2% of the smart market, which is at least an improvement on the 0.4% it had in the previous year. And Germany is the Android HOTBED of Europe, where a massive 61% of all smartphones are running versions of Android.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ December 22, 2011The vast majority of Windows Mobile 7 phones are not bought, they are developer phones, “review” units, and rewards handed out by Microsoft for posting fake Android malware horror stories on Twitter.
I really would ANYONE actually BUY a Windows Phone?
