There are some good non-official options out there for accessing a Steam account on Android, now there’s one that comes with the Valve stamp of approval. Simply called Steam, Valve’s Android app lets users of the sprawling online gaming service chat with other users, stay up with the news and even queue up purchases for download.
But there’s one issue – this is a closed beta test, so it won’t accept your regular Steam account details…
…so unless you’re part of the app’s beta test scheme this won’t work just yet. The Android Steam app is on the Android Market here, if you’d like to get prepared for the full public release.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ January 30, 2012Well I wasn’t a part of the beta at first but if you sign in using the Steam Android Mobile app with your SteamGuard code it’ll say something like
‘sorry this is closed. however we have noted down that you are interested’.
So I waited a few days and now I have access to the beta with an additional beta invite. It’s actually pretty cool. The chat works great.
